Physiotherapy Education
INFORMATION AND NUMBERS   At present, the diploma of State of physiotherapist is recognized Second-year university level for 3 years of studies more 1 preparatory year. It is one of the weakest level in Europe.
The reform proposed by the government confirms this established fact by a rank License (Bachelors degree + 3 for years of studies). The proposed reform does not thus contains real advances.
The quasi-unanimity of the physiotherapists (92 %) asks for a recognition of their diploma at the rank of Masters degree and for one very big majority (59 %), the preservation of the first year common to the studies of health ( PACES).

THE FFMKR reminds that, if the profession asks 5 years of studies, it is in particular to enhance the basic knowledge and so answers the justifiable expectations of the patients. The rank License (Bachelors degree) cannot satisfy the new requirements and the new missions imposed by the texts of law.
That is why, the French Federation of physiotherapists ( FFMKR) repeats its following proposals :
- The preservation and the generalization of the PACES, as year of training orientation selection.
- 4 years of specific training allowing to invest completely areas of competence and pulling a recognition of the training of the physiotherapists in the Rank Masters degree.

There are 40 schools of physiotherapy in France.
There is 2 495 students admitted in 1st year.
There is no school in our premises but there is  an Institute of physiotherapy which provides continuing education. Since one year continuing education is compulsory.
There is a total of 1 860 hours of studies (during the 3 years of school of physiotherapy).
